The Technical and Financial Management of the Research and Innovation Support Unit (UAII) intends to provide specialized support to research activities of Services and Departments of Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto (CHUP), ensuring compliance with institutional standards and good administrative and financial management practices.

Its activity includes the analysis and negotiation of funds and costs related to industry-sponsored clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, academic studies, and fellowship-funded studies.

Within the scope of its activities, the following stand out:

• Conclusion of financial contracts
• Monitoring of revenue and expenditure from clinical studies;
• Management of resources for the implementation of projects funded by external entities;
• Management of research funds from CHUP’s Services and Departments;
• Support for raising competitive research and innovation funding;
• Management of human resources associated with research.
